| 9.2.10 | Merrill Goozner | MedCitizen NYT reporter tells half of child abuse story Duff Wilson of the New York Times (full disclosure: we were in journalism school together over a quarter century ago) has a heart-rending tale of child abuse by pill-prescribing psychiatrists in today’s paper. Not far into the story, there is this telling anecdote about Johnson & Johnson’s marketing of Risperdal, the atypical psychotic many of today’s psychiatrists order for young children prone to temper tantrums.
Alas, that’s [not] the only element of the story about the marketing of these drugs. It doesn’t mention the systematic effort by J&J and other marketers of atypical antipsychotics to influence state Medicaid programs, for which the Texas Medication Algorithm Project is the poster child (for a complete rundown of the marketing and abuse of these drugs in children and others, search the archives of journalist Philip Dawdy’s excellent blog, Furious Seasons). It didn’t even mention Louisiana’s suit against J&J (the kid lived in Louisiana) for allegedly illegal marketing Risperdal to seniors. Curious readers would like to know: What’s the latest on the lawsuits by state Medicaid officials against J&J? On a day when the Justice Department’s settlement with Allergan over the allegedly illegal off-label marketing of Botox is in the news, what is the status of whistleblower lawsuits against psychiatric drugmakers? This isn’t just a debate about how psychiatrists treat young kids whose parents can’t deal with extreme behaviors — the ultimate focus of Wilson’s story. When it comes to psychiatric drugs, no story is complete without a full discussion of their marketing. I would like to know if and how every physician mentioned in the story came in contact with the drug industry marketing machine. |

Daughter - The Future Naomi Wolf SuperMom Leninka 9/2/2010, 3:13 am People's Cube (Satire) Like feminist Naomi Wolf, I want my daughter to grow up to get a good job, and be a good provider for her children, and a husband, if she gets married. I want her to feel she can have whatever career she wants, whether it's as a hooker, a stripper, or an attorney. or CPS agent At least she won't have to deal with the kids during the day, because she will have dumped them in some kind of daytime orphanage day care center, preferably run by the government. After all, it's never too early to start teaching children about sex education, condoms and socialism. I can't wait for all mothers to give up the raising of their own children to the government. After all, it is all part of the big plan of the Progressive World of Next Tuesday™ . That is what a true feminist like me wants. Nothing irks me more than seeing a woman have to play the role of being stay-at-home mom. FULL STORY |

vaccinations: A scientific look at the missing science behind flu season
vaccines Thursday, September 02, 2010 by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger Editor of NaturalNews.com Do influenza vaccines really work? It's a reasonable question. A rigorous look at the best scientific evidence, however, reveals that influenza vaccines are useless in 99% of the people who get vaccinated. And that's if you believe the vaccine industry's own studies. In reality, the real rate of effectiveness is likely much lower. Today I bring you a detailed analysis of the available scientific evidence which reaches some rather startling conclusions: 1) Influenza vaccines don't reduce hospitalizations and they don't reduce lost work days due to sickness. 2) Influenza vaccines don't stop influenza transmission. 3) The evidence in favor of influenza vaccines working at all is quite slim: 100 people must be vaccinated to reduce influenza symptoms in just one person. There's more (much more) to this fascinating story. Read the details here Speaking of vaccines, young girls are now dead in India after a vaccine trial there. Read what went wrong |

Boise cop who sexually assaulted infants sentenced Stephen Young By KBOI Web Staff Story Published: Sep 1, 2010 at 5:20 PM PDT Story Updated: Sep 1, 2010 at 9:31 PM PDT
Stephen Young was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Wednesday. He'll have to serve 12 and a half years before he's eligible for parole. Young changed his plea in June from not guilty on four counts of lewd conduct to guilty of one count of sexual abuse of a minor. That charge was for a victim between 14 and 18 months old. Officials say Young sexually assaulted several infants or toddlers. They were all known to Young but they did not live in his home. The sexual contact happened in various homes in Ada County, police say. In court on Wednesday, Ada County prosecutors said there was likely up to 20 possible victims. "He absolutely has no idea the havoc and the confusion and the trauma that he has unleashed on the people that call him husband, father, grandfather and friend," says the Ada County Prosecutor. In court parents of victims read statements and said they don't believe Young will ever truly admit how many children he molested. Young also addressed the court and apologized to his family and to the community. "The words I'm sorry are not enough to describe how I feel. I wish I had the power to heal the many hearts that I had broken," says Young FULL STORY and video Yanno, I really could not care less about his "apology". Serve 12 years. This is justice? |

Ordeal Shows Risks of Psychosis* Drugs for
Young Chris Bickford for The New York Times By DUFF WILSON Published: September 1, 2010 OPELOUSAS, La.- At 18 months, Kyle Warren started taking a daily antipsychotic drug on the orders of a pediatrician trying to quell the boy’s severe temper tantrums. Thus began a troubled toddler’s journey from one doctor to another, from one diagnosis to another, involving even more drugs. Autism, bipolar disorder, hyperactivity, insomnia, oppositional defiant disorder. The boy’s daily pill regimen multiplied: the antipsychotic Risperdal, the antidepressant Prozac, two sleeping medicines and one for attention-deficit disorder. All by the time he was 3. He was sedated, drooling and overweight from the side effects of the antipsychotic medicine. Although his mother, Brandy Warren, had been at her “wit’s end” when she resorted to the drug treatment, she began to worry about Kyle’s altered personality. “All I had was a medicated little boy,” Ms. Warren said. “I didn’t have my son. It’s like, you’d look into his eyes and you would just see just blankness.” Today, 6-year-old Kyle is in his fourth week of first grade, scoring high marks on his first tests. He is rambunctious and much thinner. Weaned off the drugs through a program affiliated with Tulane University that is aimed at helping low-income families whose children have mental health problems, Kyle now laughs easily and teases his family. Ms. Warren and Kyle’s new doctors point to his remarkable progress - and a more common diagnosis for children of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder - as proof that he should have never been prescribed such powerful drugs in the first place. ![]() September 1, 2010 Restricting Parental Access to the Classroom
Another mom called Big Lake Superintendent Bob Lageson, who assured her it “should never happen again.” Yet, within weeks, the local school board was meeting to discuss adopting a policy requiring parents to make an appointment three days in advance of a visit, and granting to the principal wide discretion to prevent parents from entering the building even then. After an unprecedented public outcry, the school board softened the three day requirement for parents of students to merely “as much advance notice as possible” – but they passed the new restriction. They even granted to the principal authority to detain unauthorized visitors until law enforcement arrives, citing criminal trespass laws. Today, the current student handbook (pp.7-8) declares that “Big Lake High School does not allow students to bring guests or visitors to classes,” which includes parents. Even more importantly, the events that unfolded in Big Lake have played out numerous other times as well, throughout the country. And the courts have consistently upheld such decisions. The proposed Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution can halt the erosion of parental rights nation-wide, and restore to parents the right to visit their child and see what is being taught. This will not allow individual parents to shape curriculum for an entire school, but it will allow any parent to remain informed of classroom content, and hopefully to opt their child out of material they find offensive. Please act to protect the right of concerned parents to monitor their child’s education. Sign the petition and get more information at ParentalRights.org. Then, please pass this on. Every parent of a public school student needs to know how schools are robbing them of their rights. Forward this email to friends, add the message to your Facebook account, or click here to visit this page online and use the “share” button to add it to virtually any other social network. Finally, share your own story with us. If you have first-hand experience with a public school ignoring your rights as a parent, please email your account to stories@parentalrights.org. Sincerely, |

This be the Key Factor Spiking the Rise in ADHD? Posted By Dr. Mercola | September 01 2010 Close to 1 million children in the United States have potentially been misdiagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) -- simply because they are the youngest, and therefore the most immature, in their kindergarten class. These children are significantly more likely to be prescribed behavior-modifying drugs such as Ritalin. Such inappropriate treatment is particularly troubling because of the unknown impacts of long-term stimulant use on children's health. According to Science Daily: “It also wastes an estimated $320 million-$500 million a year on unnecessary medication -- some $80 million-$90 million of it paid by Medicaid”. FULL STORY |

| 09/01/2010 Murdered kids' info should be sealed, votes Assembly/Senate California's Children Sparked by a recent leak to the Los Angeles Times from the LA County Department of Children and Family Services, legislation landed on Governor Schwarzenegger’s desk yesterday that will, if signed, result in the permanent sealing of autopsy reports of murdered children. The bill, written by Senate minority leader Dennis Hollingsworth, R-Temecula, (at right), passed a 60-1 vote in the Assembly and a 33-1 vote in the Senate Monday. The legislation, SB5, allows family members to request that autopsies and other evidence be kept private if a child was killed during a crime. The request can be made only after a conviction. The California Newspaper Association, which says the reports are important public documents, was the only opposition to the bill. American Family Rights association would certainly have opposed this bill if we had known about it. Frankly, we are having trouble imagining why a family would want information sealed on a murdered child. And frankly, we suspect the motivation for this bill to be much less than honorable- especially considering the timing. Our position is that CPS agents daily commit Federal Crimes- several of which are Capital crimes, and we would LOVE for them to be called to account for their Color of Law activities. |

They can't prevent crimes, and they have absolutely no success stories. Anybody that believes these boobs help children is terribly misinformed. CPS is the "Hero of FOOLS" The solution is to make child abuse a CRIME, to be handled by the POLICE, and tried in the REAL criminal court, not the ungodly statute law fraud they are operating.

Alienation: A Serious and Growing Problem in Family Law Cases Contributor: Collins & Collins, P.C. JD Supra August 31, 2010 SUMMARY: Some of the issues facing parents involved in a divorce or paternity action involving child custody are not specific to New Mexico, but occur all over the United States. One such issue, which has become increasingly recognized by family law courts during the last 20 years, is the concept of parental alienation. Parental alienation is generally discussed in the context of a contested custody dispute, although elements of parental alienation can certainly be found in intact families. When the research about parental alienation first began being published, it focused on situations in which one parent sought to alienate the child from the other parent by doing things like preventing visitation between the child and the other parent and bad-mouthing the other parent to the child. Frequently, one parent would go so far as making false allegations in court to prevent the other parent from seeing the child. A divorce is a WAR, because one or both marriage partners is a spoiled rotten selfish brat. OF COURSE the kids are used as weapons. Don't lose sight of the fact that there are NO rules of evidence in family court- people can make whatever allegations they want. See the Kristin Ruggiero case-
And what people seem to miss is that CPS is the ULTIMATE parental alienator, using these same lying character assassination methods in family court. Also,

mom to court for murder hearing Joy Heaven accused of killing Emily Meno, 5 Updated: Tuesday, 31 Aug 2010, 11:13 PM EDT Published : Tuesday, 31 Aug 2010, 9:50 PM EDT By Dani Carlson GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The woman accused of killing her 5-year-old foster daughter is scheduled to be in Kent County court Wednesday morning for a preliminary exam, where a district judge will decide if there is enough evidence to move forward with the felony murder case. Joy Heaven was charged formally in July with murder while committing child abuse. The Gaines Township woman was responsible for Emily Meno, her special needs foster daughter who died of a traumatic brain injury July 17. Heaven originally told police that Emily had an epileptic seizure July 15, court documents show. But Emily's autopsy revealed the girl had died from head trauma after being hit with something hard. Heaven then admitted to becoming frustrated with Emily for wetting her pants and getting in the way. She admitted to shoving Emily so hard, the child flew through the air, landed on her head and lost consciousness for several seconds, the documents say. Heaven took Emily to a hospital several hours later, where she died after two days. The prosecution will present its case against Heaven on Wednesday. She is not in jail, as she posted the $10,000 bond in July. If convicted, Heaven faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. I wonder if this is ANOTHER $12,000 a month kid*. I am willing to bet that her REAL mother wouldn't have killed her and would have taken good care of her for a lot less money. |

| Not
since the overthrow of the Weimar
Republic have the leaders of a major democracy used their offices and
the mass media to disseminate invective
against millions of their own citizens. In fact it was Adolph Hitler who
urged that “the state must
declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people”
and who explained, in the words of Rabbi Daniel Lapin, that “as long as
government is perceived as working for the benefit of children, the people
happily will endure almost any curtailment of liberty.” Using children to tug on our heartstrings may be not only a
weakness of the sentimental. It also may be a ploy by those cynical and
unscrupulous enough to exploit children for their own purposes.
This is likely to be remembered as one of the most diabolical perversions of governmental power in our history, a time when we allowed children to be used and abused by fast-talking government officials and paid for it with our families, our social order and our constitutional rights.-- STEPHEN BASKERVILLE (in about 2000) |
