OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that a man arrested for cocaine possession over Christmas weekend is a child welfare specialist with the agency.

According to Oklahoma City Police, officers found Terry Pursell parked at a Braum's on South May Avenue. Officers said Pursell tried to drive away, but they were able to pull him over.

During the arrest, Pursell told police he worked for the DHS and was worried about losing his job.

Pursell is currently in jail on $3,500 bond.  FULL STORY and Comments

For all those nay-sayers who have been denying that CPS is utterly evil, how about the front page of Oklahoma's #1 newspaper on Christmas Day?

Does that give you even a hint on how utterly corrupt and malfeasant CPS is?

And it's not just an Oklahoma problem.  It's a nation-wide problem.  Same problem in Canada, England, Australia- EVERY westernized country in the world

But who really cares?  It's For the ChildrenTM

Or maybe not so much- Best interest of the child- A new "Civil Right"

A social work professor who taught students about sexuality allegedly committed rape twice and lewd acts on a child under 16 years old.
Dwain Pellebon, 54, of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, worked with a child advocacy group until recently but was arrested last Friday.
University staff moved quickly to suspend Pellebon from contact with students but he has not yet officially been charged with anything.

He was a director on a local board for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), which helps children in juvenile court and foster systems.
But Pellebon took a leave of absence from the board earlier this year, a Cleveland County CASA spokesman told The Oklahoman.

....Pellebon teaches a course on human sexuality that looks at ‘sexual behaviour, gender differences and sexual values’, reported CNN.

Oklahoma U professor faces child sex complaints
An OU professor has been arrested on child sex complaints. The professor has not been charged in Cleveland County District Court, but an investigation is continuing, police say

NORMAN, OKLAHOMA- A University of Oklahoma social work professor has been arrested on complaints of rape and lewd acts with a child, police said Tuesday.

Dwain Pellebon, 54, was arrested Friday in Norman on two complaints of rape and one complaint of lewd acts with a child younger than 16, police Capt. Tom Easley said.

Pellebon was taken to the Cleveland County jail. He has not been charged in district court, Easley said, but the investigation is continuing.

Pellebon is an associate professor in the OU School of Social Work, according to the OU website.

Cleveland County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Meghan McCormick said Pellebon was booked at the jail Friday and released. His bail amount was not immediately available.

OU spokeswoman Catherine Bishop said Pellebon had been placed on paid administrative leave. Pellebon could be moved to unpaid administrative leave as more details come to light, Bishop said.

Pellebon has been on family and medical leave since Oct. 5, Bishop said.

Donald Baker, OU School of Social Work academic director, said he could not comment on the allegations Tuesday, but said the complaints are under investigation.

Of course, NEWSOK has the comments section turned off. Otherwise, some uncouth curr like me might say something like "Why else would a guy be in Social Work if not for tagging teens, who will not be believed if they DO tell?"

I also note that they are not saying whether this teen was a girl or A BOY.  Think about that filthy shit for a minute.

Also note that this piece of pompous garbage GETS HIS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.  He gets a Real Police Investigation, not the freckle-face CPS agent Alinsky character assassination us parents get by sociopathic snots with a hyperactive imagination..  He will also have a Real Lawyer putting up an Aggressive Defense.

EVERYBODY should know about this-
Child Molesters: A Behavioral Analysis

"Adults with an added authority (e.g., teachers, camp counselors, coaches, religious leaders, law-enforcement officers, doctors, judges [DA and child protection attorneys]) present even greater problems in the investigation of these cases. Such offenders are in a better position to seduce and manipulate victims and escape responsibility.

...The most difficult case of all involves a subject who has an ideal occupation for any child molester: a therapist who specializes in treating troubled children. This offender need only sit in his office while society preselects the most vulnerable victims and brings them to him. The victims are by definition “troubled” and unlikely to be believed if they do make an allegation

Confidential DHS Documents Left Behind in Home

DON'T MISS THE VIDEO!

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A DHS worker left hundreds of confidential documents behind after she was evicted from her rental home in Guthrie.

The documents obtained by NEWS 9 contained names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers. They also contained the names and addresses of children involved in sexual and physical abuse.

Normally, this type of paperwork is heavily guarded but it was discovered when a DHS social worker moved and left it all behind.

Sandy Chanel was shocked when she discovered the condition of her rental home, from cat feces on the floor to food left in the kitchen. She says her house is trashed.

"I would not live like this," Chanel said.

Yet, it was a box in the basement that caused her the most concern.

"I saw a box of paperwork, which I thought was trash, then when I started looking though it, I thought, ‘This is not good'," Chanel said.

What she found was page after page of confidential DHS paperwork; some dating back five years.

The information was left behind by Dana Derruisseaux, a DHS social worker. Derruisseaux moved into the Guthrie home last October. Chanel says she was evicted for failing to pay her rent.

NEWS 9 delivered the documents back to DHS.

"There is no excuse for you to have to deliver to the state Capitol a box full of documents that has personal and private information; there's just no excuse," DHS Spokesperson George Johnson said. "We won't put up with it."

Johnson commented on the condition of the home as well.

"They're our employees when they're at work," Johnson said. "We don't go to their homes, we don't inspect their homes. We don't look at the kinds of living conditions they live in." These are the people who are gods over other people's lives and take their kids for this sort of housekeeping- or even less

Dana Derruisseaux (the DHS "worker") was recently promoted and is supposed to begin her new job in the next few weeks.

DHS says the appropriate actions are being taken immediately but can't comment on what exactly that means.

NEWS 9 tried contacting the DHS worker for her side of the story, but she did not return the call.

Audit Finds Too Many Children Removed From Homes

Oklahoma City - An independent audit
* of the Department of Human Services says Oklahoma children are removed from their homes almost twice as much as the national average. (As if CPS kidnapping isn't a national pandemic.)

It adds that the number of children in the custody of state child welfare workers places a strain on the state system as well as children and their families.

The $400,000 audit by Hornby Zeller Associates was released Wednesday by House Speaker Chris Benge and other lawmakers.

The audit makes 25 recommendations to improve the system. Among them are making sure that children are removed from their homes only if there is an imminent safety threat and that the agency is involved with local law enforcement officials in all removals of children.  (So does that mean a CRIME would have to have occurred?  Or is he just there to listen to the lying parasite CPS witch's fairy tales?

Or is the LEO (since he takes an actual OATH to "uphold, support and defend the Constitution of the United States") supposed to make the skank CPS nazi observe the parents and THE KIDS' Constitutional Rights, Miranda Rights, DUE PROCESS, and REASONABLE EFFORTS?)

A lawsuit filed on behalf of foster children last year seeks to overhaul DHS.

Obviously, Oklahoma, just like every other state in the US, has been IGNORING the "Reasonable Efforts" LAW all along, and collecting the Federal Funding Streams FRAUDULENTLY.

See State Question 745 that would fix a bunch of these malfeasance problems.

*UPDATE- Here's the new Oklahoma DHS Performance Audit (PDF format, size- 3.6 Megs) referenced by the story above.

D.G. vs. Henry
Filed February 13,2008

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF OKLAHOMA
COMPLAINT FOR INJUNCTIVE AND DECLARATORY RELIEF AND REQUEST FOR CLASS ACTION

This case is brought by the Named Plaintiffs, nine children in foster care, on behalf of themselves and the more than 10,000 children of Oklahoma who have been removed from their homes by the State. These foster children, who are or will be in the legal custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services ("DHS"), bring this action because DHS, under the supervision of Defendants, who directly and indirectly control and are responsible for the administration of Oklahoma's foster care system, have failed in their basic and fundamental duty to provide for the safety and care of these Oklahoma citizens.

Oklahoma DHS workers back lawsuit
Union joins effort to make case against troubled agency a class action

A state employees union — including more than 300 child welfare workers — is endorsing a class-action lawsuit against the state Department of Human Services.

The Oklahoma Public Employees Association, with DHS workers accounting for at least a quarter of the union’s 10,000 members, claims such lawsuits are necessary to fix problems with public service programs in Oklahoma.

An unnamed child welfare worker is quoted in court paperwork.

"We need this lawsuit, and the kids need to win it. If that doesn’t happen, nothing will ever change,” the worker said. "We know what to do, and we’ve told the administration what it needs to do — administration just won’t do it.”

It is an unexpected but welcome ally for the New York-based Children’s Rights organization that is suing on behalf of more than 10,000 children in state custody.  FULL STORY

"There are more than half a million children and youth in the U.S. foster care system today. Studies reveal that children are 11 times more likely to be abused in state care than they are in their own homes, and 7 times more likely to die as a result of abuse in the foster care system."-- John Walsh Show April 16, 2003

State Job Openings Persist
Talk Radio 1520 KOKC

1/19/2009

(Oklahoma City, OK) -- Oklahoma's Office of Personnel Management continues posting jobs in state government, despite budget worries. Deputy Chief Hank Batty says they number about 150 right now in most any pay range, despite a hiring freeze that's been in effect since the David Walters administration in the 90's. That means a department head must make a request of a cabinet secretary to hire someone. Virtually all hires are to replace someone who has left. Batty says state government job turnover is about 14 percent. Social service jobs involving child welfare and juvenile justice turn over the most.

The only person who could STAND working for state "child welfare" is someone with no conscience, morals, or ethics.  A brawler, communist, useful idiot fits best.  Being Schizophrenic is a real plus.

[in]"...Oklahoma’s dangerous and badly dysfunctional child welfare system... Kids in Oklahoma suffer abuse and neglect in their foster care placements at a rate that has made the state child welfare system one of the three most dangerous in the nation for many years running"- Children's Rights

Dear Friend of Children's Rights,

Following months of preliminary court filings and nearly a full day of argument in open court on Children’s Rights’ campaign to reform Oklahoma’s dangerous and badly dysfunctional child welfare system, a federal judge yesterday rejected a legal challenge from the state and ruled from the bench that our case may proceed.  Full Story

It's not just Oklahoma.  CPS is dangerous and dysfunctional EVERYWHERE.  It's a pandemic plague  in every westernized nation in the world where the Orwellian- named Children's "Protective" "Services" exists.
